Not to be confused with Fantastic Fridays... or something good.

Ya gotta hand it to Jagged Edge Productions, the creators of Snake Hotel, they know exactly how to play this SEO game with a title and cover art that’s going to trick more than enough people into thinking this is that other movie with the name Freddy in the title.
And not Nightmare On Elm Street.
Back in the VHS and early DVD days, and even continuing to this day with the Asylum, there always a film producer who would latch their low budget production onto a big budget release. They did this to make a quick buck into tricking an unsuspecting viewer that their movie was the film they were actually looking for.
Now the producer of this film is the same as the over-hyped Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey movie from earlier this year. It appears they looked at all the rubber masks they had left over, and decided rather than let them go to waste, they were going to make another movie.
And that’s exactly what they did.
PLOT
A detective begins to investigate a series of murders that appear to be occurring on Friday nights. A creepy stockbroker is hiring escorts and leading them down to a warehouse where he demands they recite a Latin passage out loud for his arousal.
The passage actually summons a group of demonic looking characters that he has made a pact with who demand the blood of eight souls in return for granting the stockbroker his ultimate wish.
ABOUT THE FILM
The movie has good and bad points, but as typical with a movie like this, it’s the bad points that people will dwell on the most, so I will try and keep them to a minimum.
The idea behind the movie is fairly decent, and with a bigger budget and more creative crew there could have been a rather creepy film here. The masks of the demonic characters are also passable, and the googly eyes of the rabbit-thing main character thingo will have you in stitches as it shakes it head from side to side.
But, and it appears we are getting into the bad points quicker than I thought, it just doesn’t make any sense. There is no backstory to who these characters are and indeed why they look like they do. It’s just a case “we have these masks, let’s use them!”
On top of that is the illogical methods the detective uses to solve the case. She divulges assumingly confidential case information to her part-time artist boyfriend and influencer best friend. Why? And why is her superior so bad at his job that he essentially allows her to do whatever she wants?
Then there are the technical issues. The movie is lit far too dimly, resulting in scenes that are frequently too dark to make anything out, while the digital blood splatter is too obvious when it’s the same splatter effect repeated after each other.
What are my overall thoughts?
Low-budget schlock. I think you know what you’re getting yourself in for before you watch this one, and knowing it’s from Jagged Edge productions, who have a reputation all to their own, there’s no surprises here.
The other real big issue here is that for a 75-minute film, it feels far longer than that!
